On 12th May I will be running the Henley Half Marathon Trail Run!

Yes, you read that right. I have decided to put myself, and my knee, to the test and committed to this. Why? Well my motivation is a boy I have know since before he was born and is only a couple of weeks older than Max.

Ben is a bright and energetic young man who's life, and that of his family, was irreversibly changed in August 2017. He was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A condition that neither his family or I had previous knowledge of. It is a life-limiting, progressive and incurable muscle-wasting condition that will, over the next few years, take the ability to move and breath independently away from Ben.

In addition to the physical impact, the condition affects Ben’s learning. At school, he struggles to focus at times and finds reading and writing a challenge. To aid his learning, I am raising funds to provide Ben with the IT equipment and learning software to help him keep up with his peers at school and set him up for success.
