On the 11th May I will be skydiving 13,000 feet to help fundraise for my trip to volunteer at the Nasio Trust in July for 10 days. For the past 6 months I have been babysitting to raise enough money to pay for the skydive. I am now seeking sponsorship for the skydive, all of which will go to the trust. In July I am traveling to Kenya to volunteer for the Nasio trust. The Nasio Trust works to help end the cycle of poverty. They do this by working with the community and creating strong partnerships. The charity focuses on three different aspects; Education and child care, Healthcare provision and Sustainable income generating projects. The charity currently provide a daily meal, pre-primary education and medical care to over 400 children. I am honoured to be volunteering at the trust and working alongside some incredible people there. During my trip we will build a house for a family in desperate need. We are helping to run a 'jigger' campaign, aiming to help many children in the area. Jiggers are a parasite which often burrow into childrens feet. They cause swelling, itching, ulceration and infection and can lead to blood poisoning, gangrene, tetanus and other diseases. Sometimes this can lead to amputation or even death. This means that they are unable to walk to school, depriving them of an education. During the trip we will work with doctors to organise a clinic to help many of the children who are affected in the area. Alongside this we will be volunteering in the schools, hospital, farms, markets, local kitchens and participating in home visits to meet some of the people there. We will also be organising a sporting event for the children in the school. I am aiming too raise £500, which will go directly to the trust. This will help purchase building materials for the house we will make, alongside funding other aspects, we feel will make a huge difference. I would greatly appreciate any donation.
