My Birthday Wish:

I want to help support the families of Compostela which they so very much deserve by asking for any amount of donations which I will be able to directly transfer into the villages necessities through Ate May.

Flora and I stayed with these families in their new homes in Compostela, which they moved to from the dump sites of the city of Cebu, Philippines. Their living conditions were terrible before, but scavenging was their easiest way forward. Now they live in a clean environment where the children can go to school and can play around breathing in fresh air. Nonetheless, money is still of a daily struggle which they so humbly share and always with a huge smile. I have spoken to Ate May, the project coordinator, who helps out and organizes things for the village and she has direct impact on how the money raised can get the families food and give the children more schooling opportunities.These families changed my life, and I spent one of the most amazing weeks of my life playing and sharing stories and traditions all day long. No matter the age, closeness or gender, everyone in the village made us feel so at home. They even threw Flora and I a Filipino style 18th birthday and thanked us for coming to stay with them, I have never cried and shared so many tears before. It was an incredibly beautiful week. It also made me realize how much laughing and smiling matters, they do it all day long! 

25€ is equivalent to a monthly’s food spend for a big family... every little donation makes a massive difference there, I promise! I will post the updates on how the money will help the village, and the families will have more chances of staying and not moving back to the dump sites.
