    Story

My partner requires an alcohol detox. I know many people would say why should I it's self inflicted. My partner was going to work to full time and currently off work due to his alcohol dependence. He as gone to services of which they say he would receive a detox 99.9% however they are now saying they can not help until he stops taking pain medication for a back problem. We contacted the GP to help of which he stated that he can carry on drinking for a while until he gets cirrhosis of the liver then they will help. This is beyond belief he needs help and crying out for it. He can go cold turkey which is very dangerous. We are reaching out for people to help in order for him to get treatment privately as the nhs and services are not willing to help considering he's been paying for taxes for a long time.
