Tom Weldon died of cancer, age 48 on April 6th at his home in Hackney.

His diagnosis was sudden and the days left of his life were way too short. His death is hard to comprehend for all of us, not least his wife Hoana and his three daughters Kiri (9) Awhina (16) and Ariana . It was the end and he was far too young.

But there were moments of pure profound joy and happiness too... and humour, some of it quite dark... which Tom loved!

There is no doubt that Tom loved life and the life that he had was full. He maintained such grace and dignity to the end, which is why we want a funeral that celebrates Tom to the fullest, like his favourite tropical holiday to Belize in 2017. Tom also said, with a sparkle in his eye, that he wanted everyone to wear black and to be really, really sad. And we will do that too!

He also wanted a bench or tree in Clissold Park to mark his spirit within the community. Tom loved his time in the shop and with all of his customers and friends over the past 10years, you really made it special for him. The community of love and support around him is and has been really incredible, thank you so much. Tom would have been so proud.

I will let you how to sign the petition for the bench as soon as i get it done . We will also be posting more details of the funeral as they emerge.

Let's try and make this happen in celebration of such a kind, gentle and amazing man. There will never be a moustache quite like it!
