Story
On any given day Marina, Joyce, Gill, Sue and the other tireless volunteers at The ARK are taking care of 250+ dogs and 80+ cats who have been abandoned or abused.
Their aim is to rescue, provide care and shelter, rehabilitate and rehome Kefalonia's stray animal population- but this comes at a huge cost to them. The monthly food bill for the dogs alone is in the region of 5,000 euros! Each month they struggle to get by, with the winter months being particularly tough after the tourists (and their monetary donations) have left.
This summer I will be doing a number of challenges to raise money for The ARK, starting with The Great Glencoe Challenge on Saturday 7th July, culminating in a 15,000ft parachute jump in September. Initially I am hoping to raise £500 to fund the build of the new cattery. Anything raised over the £500 will be put towards the food bill for the animals.
Please donate as much as you can so that the animals who have already suffered so much aren't cold and hungry over the winter. Thank you xx
