I am running the Bournemouth Marathon on October 7th in aid of Leicester Rape Crisis. My challenge is to finish in under 4 hours. 😊

LRC provide therapeutic support that allows women and girls to overcome the short and long-term impact of sexual violence. They are the only specialist service in Leicester/Leicestershire/Rutland that provides a range of help, support and therapeutic counselling to female survivors of sexual violence, and deliver outreach support for young girls aged 13-17.

This is a very much under resourced service. Statistics from the Ministry of Justice, Office of National Statistics and Home Office state that 1 in 5 women aged 16-59 will have experienced some form of sexual violence since the age of 16. I am sure we all know someone ( friend, sister, mother, colleague) that has been affected from sexual violence.
