Story
We are looking to raise money to improve facilities at Ashford Hockey Club.
As parents, we see how much our daughters love Hockey and how much Ashford Hockey club means to them.
We have in the past years seen the club grow and the players and results get better and better.
Unfortunately we have also seen the pitch deteriorate to a point that it now needs to be replaced.
The club is currently navigating many avenues to improve the facilities but at the time of writing - none of these funds are secured.
So we have decided to show that we can do our part (not just stand on the side line cheer and drink beer!).
We have decided to take up the challenge of cycling from the Ashford club house to join the junior section on their hockey tour of Holland. We are undertaking solo unsupported rides of 240 miles. Jonny B leaves on the 10th and Christian on the 11th.
We hope to meet up close to the club house in Holland on the evening of the 12th April just in time to arrive together for the first match of the tour.
Please support us in our efforts and help raise these much needed funds for the club.

5 years agoSo we did it! It was a super hard ride 350km over 2 days and 330km over 3 days with an 18km headwind all the way! It was hard doing this as individual riders as there was no one to help raise spirits! It was a great and welcome sight to ride into the Breda club to see everyone on the pitch. The facilities that the clubs have in Holland are brilliant we have a lot of ideas from them. JB Has already suggested some other events for us to do (Rowing the channel was one of his best so far!) We will keep you posted on the next event.

5 years agoSo Jonny B is on his way! an early start with a good breakfast on the ferry was the order of the day. A steady headwind was a constant throughout the day's ride but blue skies prevailed and pedals were spun! after a long day riding Jonny finally made it to Bruges for a well-deserved meal, hot bath and a long sleep. ready for tomorrows adventure. Christian sets off tomorrow so check out the facebook page for updates on both journeys.
