Hello! We are Allyna, Angel, Christy, Eunice, Jess, Jonathan, JR, Naomi and Will, a group from St Ebbe’s Church, Oxford who will be serving on a summer team to East Asia for two weeks. While we are there, we will be doing the following:

1) English Corners: These are events put on for university students/young professionals, giving them an opportunity to practice their English by discussing particular topics in groups. These topics are chosen so that they naturally lead into gospel based conversations (for example, the topic may be identity, love etc...). We are also praying for opportunities to get to know and share our lives with those we meet during any free time we have during the two weeks.

2) Children’s holiday club/camp: We will be running a holiday bible club and camp for children aged around 7-13 years old. This will be a mixture of English language lessons and activities, along with talks and bible studies in a gospel.

3) Church: Through sessions put on by a local team, as well as through meeting local believers, we will learn about the local church, what it is like to live for Christ there and the joys and challenges of being involved in Christian work overseas. We hope we will also be an encouragement to those we meet too!

We also aim to experience a bit of the culture, explore the city and sample the local food! There may even be time for some karaoke….

We are excited to see for ourselves how God is at work around the world! To do that, we will need your prayers, knowing that “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.” We also could do with your support financially. As a team, our estimated cost for the trip is £7400, which includes flights, accommodation and food, of which we have £4800 left to raise.
