Legal aid is not working effectively and when his claim was rejected he had to engage a private solicitor to lodge his appeal. He has borrowed £1200 and may need a further £2000 if his appeal has to go to the next stage. As an asylum seeker he is not allowed to work and gets just £36 a week from the government to cover all his food and subsistence costs. Your one-off donation can help him afford effective legal representation to fight his case.

He has severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) caused by the events that led him to flee his country and suffers from constant flashbacks and suicidal thoughts. Although the NHS recognises that he needs help, they do not have the resources to offer him counselling now. Low cost counselling is available privately from £15 per hour.
