The Atos A-Teams Voluntary Story:

We kicked off our volunteering on Tuesday 5th February by visiting the special needs centre on the outskirts of the city. The next day entailed a heart-warming visit to a baby orphanage, followed by assisting in a community centre for “street children”. For the remainder of the week, we had the privilege to visit a nursery, down syndrome centre, the Ourika village and prepare 60+ lunches for the homeless.

During our time in Morocco, we kept the children entertained by using all arts and crafts, music, sports as well as toys; this has been sponsored by your kind donations. They especially loved the arts and crafts, creating some remarkably creative pieces of art work! Painting educational murals in the schools and community centres was also a big part of our volunteering. We were assisted by Rashid, a professional artist, who voluntarily paints at various children centres throughout Marrakech.

Our time volunteering was extremely rewarding and we are grateful to have had this opportunity; not only were we able to help those less fortunate, we also learned a great deal ourselves. We would like to give a big thank you to Atos for being so supportive throughout the duration of this trip. Also, a huge thank you to star volunteers for putting together an excellent programme which we all truly taken back by!

Our trip itself is completely self-funded but we’re keen to maximise the fundraising and looking to raise further donations here.

These donations will go to the orphans and homeless of Marrakech.
