Story
Both the RNLI and the Wales Air Ambulance are charities that AUWR feel are important to support and so, all donations will be equally split between the 2 organisations. A member of the 18/19 committee, Amy Best - social sec, owes her life to both organisations. On the 4th of January 2016 Amy was hit by a car, 2 volunteer members of Aberystwyth RNLI stopped on their way home from work and administered life saving first aid to Amy. After she was taken to Bronglais Hospital it was decided that she would be airlifted to the Heath Hospital in Cardiff to receive further treatment and surgery. Without the aid given by these 2 charities it is very possible Amy would not have survived her injuries. For this and so many other reasons AUWR asks you to give what you can. Thank you!
We will be cycling the distance between John O'Groats and Lands End on stationary bikes in the Picture House of the Students Union on the 7th of December 2018. Come and show support for the girls!

5 years agoOverall on the day we raised an extra £52! The academy (one of our sponsors) donated £5, as well as someone who works in Tafarn Y Maes, Michelle Rix, a local pub in Capel Bangor also donated £5. Becky Dysons' grandparents who don't own a computer donated £25. Making the total money we had in cash £87! This is incredible and will be added to the final amount we split in half and give to the charities, to avoid the 15% commission that Justgiving adds to donations. AUWR thanks you all so much for your continued support. We are all blown away!

5 years agoHi! So yesterday was Go Day, all of the rugby girls that cycled gave it their absolute all. In the end we did the 874 miles in 8 hours and 27 minutes. I couldn't be more proud of the girls and I cannot thank all of you enough for supporting us and donating so generously. From me and all of AUWR thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
