Story
Fred Clipsham was a legend at Balderton Cricket Club. As a very gifted player, unique coach and number one barbecue chef he touched so many lives. He spent so many hours working with the children's section through 'the academy' and developing a conveyor belt of first team talent. Outside of cricket Fred plied his trade as a builder across Newark and the surrounding area. He also enjoyed his rabbit showing and judging. Anyone who met Fred would have their own unique story about him as he had his own way of doing things but always put others first and would do anything for anyone.
Sadly, we lost Fred on 20th June 2020 after a battle against illness. He was tended to by the exceptional nurses from Beaumond House Hospice who provided support to Fred and his family.
The family and the club have organised a memorial cricket match to be held at Balderton Cricket Club on Coronation Street on Sunday 29th August. It will be a day of fun, celebration and reflection in memory of Fred. All donations and monies will be split between Balderton Cricket Club and Beaumond House Hospice. It would be great to see as many people as possible at the event. Further details are to follow.

Fred was a wonderful cousin. He always made me smile. My father Frank loved watching him play for Balderton Cricket Club.
