For many years now the Ballater Charitable Chiels have actively worked along side the Ballater enhancement group by taking ownership of the Christmas lights (erection & maintaining the lights) which have been displayed throughout the village making them a focal point of Royal Deeside, in 2010 the chiels paid for and erected the stunning Christmas light display which lit up the steeple on Glenmuick parish church in the heart of Ballater, sadly these lights have succumbed to the weather and are in dire need of redevelopment – hopefully the money raised from our challenge will pay for the restoration and install the lights back to full effect
