I will be participating in a sponsored dance very shortly, as well as doing other fundraising activities, ahead of my trip with Beacon Academy to The Gambia.

I will be raising money for development projects in Gambian villages.

Beacon Academy has been visiting The Gambia with students for over 20 years. We visit each of the villages that we work with listening to what funding they require, what they would use that funding for and how they are going to best use the funds. The students then debate how we distribute the money that we have raised between the villages.

Unlike international charities which have overhead costs, all students will meet their own travel and personal costs. This means that every single penny you donate will be used to help someone in The Gambia.

I am fortunate enough to be returning to The Gambia after an enlightening and educational trip last year. I'm really looking forward to returning and seeing the progress made as a result of the impressive quantity of money we raised last year as a collective.
