    Story

    Dear everyone

My son Josh is 11 years old & is my treasured angel. Josh has severe & complex special needs. He has the developmental age of 18 to 30 months old. A giant toddler & despite him getting older in years he will always be a toddler & need special care 24 hours a day for the rest of his life.
Josh has many health problems but one of the main ones is his right hip that is turned at a right angle to his body. This causes him huge amounts of discomfort & he requires major surgery to correct this.

After surgery & a long recovery he will be able to walk normally & will have no more pain. He won't have to spend the rest of his life on very very strong medication to control his pain. His quality of life will be greatly improved.

We live in a tiny council house which has 1 living room 13 ft wide by 11.5ft deep. Because of Joshs needs he requires a room to himself during the day from when he gets up until he goes to be at 8.30. Myself & my older son live in the tiny kitchen.

After Joshs surgery he will need to remain down stairs during his recovery & will need myself or a carer to sleep very near him.

I advised social services 2 years ago that Josh needed surgery & asked for addaptations for the additional downstairs room to be built.

They tried to bully me into moving. Then they tried to say Josh would have to go into the sitting room & we would have to manage.

Finally last May after lots of arguing & distress & heart ache they finally agreed. They did nothing for 4 months. Only when I chased them & threatened a formal complaint did they do anything. This week I was advised by them that the whole process would probably take 18 months to be agreed & a further 6 months to build. 2 YEARS.
Josh can't wait 2 years. I'm appealing to all the lovely people out there to help me raise the funds to build Josh the conservatory so Josh can have his much needed surgery & a place of his own to play & call his own.

Please help me love from Josh xxx
