As the elected representative some of the people who have been hit hardest by austerity in Stockport, I am eternally grateful to the amazing community groups we have that provide entertainment, education and somewhere to go for residents of all ages and abilities.

This year I am running in Stockport 10K to raise money for Brinnington Events team and Heaton Norris Pavilion, two brilliant groups that work tirelessly for their communities and support working class families across the ward.

Brinnington Events team are a group of volunteers dedicated to putting Brinnington on the map and hosting a number of events through the year, including Brinnington Community Art group, Movieland (affordable cinema experience) and Brinnington Summer Carnival.

Heaton Norris Pavillion is a community hub in Heaton Norris, providing amongst other things a Breakfast Club, Youth Club, Dementia drop in and fun days out for families.

Any donations for these two super organisations would be gratefully appreciated.
