Story
Last year my daughter Emily and I organised a sponsored walk and we raised £1,500! £500 of it went to pay for the school fees for a Kenyan girl also called Emily who we met in Ukumbani when we were there last year, with our friend Cecilia, visiting her sister Odhilia. The rest of the money we gave to Odhilia who buys food to give orphans who live with their grandparents in the local area.
This year we are doing another 10 mile sponsored walk to raise more money. African Emily's school fees are £500 per year. She is the girl in the yellow dress in the photo. She wrote us a lovely letter of thanks for paying her school fees for secondary school, which her grandmother could not afford. If we raise more money we can also buy food for the children and their grandparents. See other photos. The photos were taken by Cecilia who went to visit Odhilia again this year.
