We are raising money to help our beloved dog Belle recover from emergency spinal surgery. Belle is currently in hospital as her back legs are still paralysed and she has no control over her bladder. Belle‘s recovery will be a long process that will require the best care for her. Belle was happily playing on the beach like she does every day when another dog ran full force into her without stopping, it flipped her into the air and she landed on her back instantly paralysing her. Belle was rushed to the vets and given pain relief. We were told that she would need an instant referral to an animal hosptial to receive and mri to determine the damage/injury. We received a phone call after the scan to be told that she was in theatre having an emergency spinal operation. As you can imagine our hearts were broken but we knew this was the only chance that Belle had if she was to make any recovery. Hours went by and we finally got the call from the vet to say the surgery went well. They had put a metal plate and pins in her back along with bone cement. Belle has been getting stronger day by day but its going to take a long time to see what damage she is really left with. We are re training Belle to go to the toilet as she lost all control.
