    Story

    **UPDATE BELOW••

This is Bennie the French bulldog. He was found wandering the streets in durham looking extremely skinny and his eyes in a poor state.
The only info we have is that he is around 6 years old.

On taking him to the vets for a check up it's come to light that he is in need of BOAS surgery for his breathing problems and he also has problems with his eyes. One eye doesn't produce any tears and is very dry, the other eye doesn't have 100% vision, is red and scarred and only produces minimal tears. So likely this is the reason why he was dumped.

We just want to get this boy the surgery he needs so he can live a happy new life. We want him to be able to go for a nice long walk without collapsing half way. We hate to see this poor boy struggle. He can barely get his breath after just a walk round the block.
We just want him fit and healthy

Unfortunately the small rescue he came from couldn't pay for the surgery.
We have now adopted him and are trying to raise the money to help this poor boy live the best life he should have had all along.

Just £1 can help towards this goal. We thank you so much <3

I just wanted to update everyone on where we are at with Bennie and his operation.

When we first started this page we hadn't even adopted Bennie yet but knew we couldn't part with him as we loved him so much from the beginning so my husband put his bike up for sale to help pay for Bennie's operation. Unfortunately we had tire kicker after tire kicker so the bike didn't sell.

There was an auction on facebook which some generous people donated items and we managed to raise £79.

And the available balance from just giving at this time excluding fees is £173.07.

The few vets we aproached unfortunately would not accept a payment plan.

So we still had a long way to go.....until yesterday.

A lovely gentleman came all the way from Wales with his son and purchased my husband's bike!! He is a huge dog lover and even met Bennie and had a cuddle. Bennie even gave the gentleman his favourite ball :) He was so glad he could help us make Bennie feel better.

So Bennie's operation is going ahead and Tom Bingham will be doing it which we are so very grateful for as he is the top bulldog vet and knows exactly what he is doing. We are going to get him to also take a look at Bennie's poorly eyes too and see if he can help there at all.

So once again I just want to thank everyone involved in helping Bennie and I will be attaching photos/proof of the money and also a receipt of Bennie's operation once he's had it so everyone can see where their donated money has gone towards.

I will also obviously update how Bennie does after his operation so will leave his just giving open just for updates only.

Bennie is doing great. His breathing is so much better than it was. He is sick quite a bit but we were told to expect this. He can now go on walks without struggling at all which he enjoys so much.

Bennie had his BOAS surgery successfully. Nostrils and soft palate. He also had his eyes treated. They had to keep him 2 hrs after surgery as he bled a lot but finally got home at 7pm yesterday. Today he's not doing too great as he won't eat or drink so had to get special food for him we can syringe feed him. Will update more soon x
