Close friends of Ben will be aware of his ongoing struggle with cancer. Over the last year Ben has been relying on a drug trial in London, the outlook was positive, we were all very hopeful.

Unfortunately, with recent illness came the detection of a new tumour. The new drugs were not working as we had hoped, Ben has now had to return to chemotherapy and hope for the best.

For the chemotherapy to be effective Avastin is required every three weeks at a cost of £1,800 (update - now £2600.00!) for each treatment. This is a heavy burden for anyone and especially for Ben after all he has been through.

Over the last couple of years many of you have kindly offered to help. It has reached the point where we are now humbled to call upon these offers.

Any support throughout this process would be much appreciated. As friends have said even if we managed to raise enough to pay for one month's treatment we would be forever grateful!
