My Uncle Geoffrey Babbage who lives in Harare Zimbabwe has been vomiting blood and has now been hospitalised in Arundel hospital in Harare Zimbabwe from the 28/12/2018. I am his niece living here in the UK , I am working and just about getting by day by day .
He is a very quiet man and does not worry anyone as he is very humble .He was in the army but no longer employed .
He has no medical aid , no money , he has no job and does not have a home .The diagnosis has come back with a bleeding ulcer which we thought could be treated and this gave us hope .Now the bills have been mounting up as you have to pay for everything :
Doctor $200 per day
Hospital $100 per day
Blood has to be bought
Ambulance for transporting him from tests to other centres costs $40.00
Prescriptions have to be paid for each and every medicine and other costs .
We have just heard today that he has cancer and they need to remove the Stomach as the bleeding Ulcer will continue of which is he has already had some many blood transfusions .
How can I sit back and watch this ? It is painful to know .
If you have no money in Zimbabwe and you are poor , your chances of survival are diminished.
Helping others and the homeless and those less fortunate has always been close to my heart in Zimbabwe and anywhere in the world and just doing something nice for someone if it is preparing a flower pot , you feel good and that you have achieved something ..
I donate to various charities and do give to the homeless whenever i am walking on the street .
I have seen the suffering and the misery in the suburbs of Zimbabwe and it breaks my heart to see what goes on .
I am lost for words and am in fear of losing my Uncle as my Dad was left to die in the hospital in Harare when he had a heart attack of which i am still grieving .
I am taking care of my disabled Mother in Harare who has severe arthiritis and is awaiting an operation on her knees and that is already costing so much money .
I am working hard and have been taking care of my parents for many years up to now and help other family members who have mental illness .
I have many crosses to bear on my shoulder and am asking for any help to raise money for Uncle Geoff to have this operation.
It just seems to be never ending .
I beg and plead for help as i cannot do this on my own .
