On 30.6.16 I met my best friend Bertie at RSPCA Derby he was a stray who had issues with aggression which was proving difficult for him to find a home. I decided to give him a chance and I am so glad I did! After a lot of hard work Bertie became a true companion! He loved strokes licking my nose and feet and begging for food he was not allowed. He basically thought he was a dog! In 2018 Bertie's teeth over grew although he had them removed and recovered he became ill and passed away at 3:35pm on the 18.8.18 in my arms. He bore my nickname Bertie and was a fighter like me but although it broke my heart he had to go over the rainbow bridge. People said he was lucky to have us I was the lucky one & so privileged to have had him in our lives I just wish it could have been for longer. In memory of Bertie we are going to sponsor a rabbit pen under the RSPCA Safe Haven scheme at the Derby branch and we want to have Bertie's name added to this pen.Safe Haven provides abused and neglected rabbits with vet care and rehabilitation and somewhere safe until they can find a home
