Hello! I am undertaking a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), as part of a gap year in 2019/2020.

During a DTS, there is a three-month lecture phase in which I will be part of group classes which delve into God's word and talk about issues which are pertinent to the world and the team. The aims are to strengthen your fellowship with God during your times alone with Him, your personal discipleship in daily life, times of praise and worship and by sharing your faith with others.

Following this phase, there is the three-month outreach phase in which we go out to share what we have learned with others, and do work within communities to strengthen their relationships and help in whatever way we can. I would love to be able to share my faith more first hand. It is something that I feel God is calling me to do, especially using my languages to create links with more people. I would love to develop into someone who can share their faith more openly and directly with those around them so that I can share with them this hope that I have. This Bilingual DTS will allow me not only to use my gifts in languages but also in music as the leaders put an emphasis on the arts and how they can be used to share God's word. I have a desire to help people, and eventually to work for a Christian charity and I think this DTS would give me the springboard I need to grow closer to God, and for him to lead me to where I can be of most help to others in the world.
