Breast Cancer is the one of the most affected cancer in women worldwide and particularly in developing countries like Nepal where the majority of cases are diagnosed in late stage due to lack of financial resources and awareness. Many people under below poverty line can’t even afford to have the basic health sanitization. So treatment for something like cancer is very rare or unheard of.

Among those affected women is, Saraswati Pradhan (age 42). She lives in Bhimeshowr municipality -2 Dolakha, Nepal .She is diagnosed with 2nd stage of Breast Cancer. She is living under below poverty line. She works as a labour worker (earning below $1 a day) to survive and support her children, regardless of her deteriorating health condition. Her husband passed away years ago. She is homeless after the horrendously devastating earthquake destroyed her home in 2015. She now lives in a make shift hut (made with twigs & tree branches/leaves).

According to WHO, more than thousand of women lose their battle every year against breast cancer. There is no government policy in place either to help or support to those who are not able to afford the treatment either in Nepal. Hence, she needs our support for her treatment.
