Story
Two years ago, Blossom Iris Kelly went into the water, beginning a journey from which she would not return.
Within a few weeks, due to swim the Dart 10k, I wanted to lend support to our dear ADT Workplace colleague, Kris, Blossom's Dad, and his family. It was just too early.
Water can be brutal and safety is paramount
Against regular protocol, the organisers did allow me to draw a rather crude bleeding heart on my bright yellow safety cap and carry her memory carefully down the River.
The Kindness of Strangers
An unknown athlete learned of our cause on Social Media and donated his place to me.
This next swim is personal to me and ADT Workplace and I'm only approaching colleagues who can do whatever they choose to raise awareness and funds.
As September draws to a close I will take on the Hurley Burley. A 10k sea challenge in North Wales. Maintain a pace lower than 25 minutes per mile and the tide locks you out of the estuary
Blossoms Legacy will carry me along

I swim distances in Open Water to raise awareness of the need to improve Child Water Safety, raising funds for selected charities committed to the cause along the way. In 2017 over 2,000 people have read about the cause and nearly £1,000 has been contributed to charities.
