The Personal Focus Group formed in August 2010 with the primary aim of supporting mental well being through positive community involvement. With the right support people can achieve faster rates of recovery, stay well, and use hospital services less far frequently. At the heart of the group’s effectiveness is passion and self-belief, fostered by mutual support and respect. The PFG is a true community group that is run by its members for its members.

The PGF is based in Intake but it is clear that it now needs a larger space to operate from. As they have to rely on grants and contracting opportunities to survive we are hoping the Pink Flamingo fundraiser will help to provide a Wellness Cafe to help people gain work experience, offer low cost healthy meals, provide meals on wheels to older community members and offer a garden area to grow produce. This will relieve pressure on our Wellness Centre by taking the food element away from our existing premises and provide a community meeting space.

We want to utilise a community building for the good of our whole community. We hope you enjoy being Flamingo'd.
