Great Birmingham Run on 14th October 2018 – Half Marathon

This is my first half marathon after taking up running, to raise money for ‘Cheryl’s Fund’ which is held at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. The fund was set up by myself and my wife, with the help of specialist breast cancer nurses, following the loss of our daughter, Cheryl, to Breast Cancer at just 30 years old.

The fund is used to help others by providing a free mastectomy bra and fabric for lovely heart shaped cushions (made by Quirky Quilters) for underarm comfort following surgery. This year has become a very testing time for us following my wife’s diagnosis with breast cancer, for which she is currently receiving treatment at the Alexandra Hospital.
