Dragon Boat Racing is an ideal sport for all ages and abilities and we provide coaching and training from ages 12 and upwards with no upper age limit, indeed we have paddlers in their 60’s and 70’s. We also provide coaching and training for Charity Teams and the Scouting family.

We are based in Saltford at the Avon Rowing club midway between Bristol and Bath. The club has been running for nearly 20 years now and in that time we have had 1000’s of different people use our club for racing, training and just for pleasure.

As a small club we are pleased of our achievements over the years by self funding boats and renting a boat house plus competing around the country racing other teams. We are proud to have supported and continue to support the various charity Dragon Boat Events by training teams to compete safely and successfully. We have paddlers from 12 to 60 compete for Great Britain in Dragon Boat Racing around the World and very successfully too.

There are however many expenses connected with running the club and we rely for funding solely on our own pockets and fundraising events.

One of the biggest costs that the club bares is holding the Bristol Dragon Boat event in Bristol Floating Harbour where teams from all over the UK attend and compete against each other. Costs have risen year on year and the event is in danger of not going ahead in 2019 unless we can find support from a local business like yourselves.

We would also really like to purchase a V6 outrigger boat for our competitive junior team to practice in and race alongside our existing V6 to gain race condition experience. Plus many other smaller items such as bouyancy aids, paddles etc. This list is endless! So please dig deep and donate as much or as little as you can spare.
