Story
My name is Brooke Nicola and I am a Miss Universe GB 2019 finalist.
One of my favourite parts of pageantry is the charity work that goes on behind the scenes. Miss Universe GB's official charity is A-sisterhood, a UK-based organisation that seeks to empower, support and protect women worldwide. MUGB also wants us to chose another charity to support in our local area, I have chosen the charity Lighthouse, a charity based in suffolk to support and empower women and children how have suffered or are at risk of suffering from domestic abuse and violence.
Each year in the UK around 1.3 million women suffer some form of domestic abuse and roughly 130,000 children live in homes where there is high-risk domestic abuse.
Throughout my time as a MUGB finalist I will be doing lots of fundraising and I would be extremely grateful for any money you could spare to these two very worth charities.
