    Story

Help us support Buckinghamshire's children and families this Christmas.

2020 has been the year nobody thought would happen. Covid-19 is without doubt the biggest issue in living memory that the world has had to deal with, affecting every aspect of billions of people’s lives.

This has put pressures on all families but particularly those who are in vulnerable situations for whatever reason. We are seeing this first-hand though our support to those children and families we work with. Not only are families coping with Covid restrictions, but also money problems, unemployment, instances of domestic violence and mental health issues loom large for an increasing number of families across Buckinghamshire.

More than ever, our annual Christmas appeal takes on added significance to bring a little extra cheer to those who need it most.

This year the number of families in crisis is higher than ever, which means the Council is supporting more families now than before and, with the added challenge of offices being closed, it is logistically much harder to collect presents in the normal way.

    How you can help

Our Just Giving fundraising appeal will help raise money to buy presents and giftcards for Buckinghamshire children whose families are facing difficulties or for families that have broken down, as well as young people leaving the Council’s care.

We hope this will bring a bit of brightness to what has been the toughest year ever for many families in Buckinghamshire, who may be fighting to keep a roof over their heads or have no money to buy their children presents.

All the money raised will go directly to children and young people in Buckinghamshire who really need our support. So please, give as much as you can to make someone else’s Christmas a little happier this year.

Thank you so much for your support.

Paul Irwin, Councillor for Stone and Waddesdon

A very big 'thank you' from councillors Paul Irwin, Mark Shaw and Ashley Waite: We are blown away with the generosity of local people to support our Christmas Present Appeal this year. In what has been such a difficult year, every single donation has been very gratefully received. The donations will enable us to make sure that so many more local disadvantaged children and young people have a better Christmas. Thank you all so much again. Merry Christmas!

      Update from the Page owner

We've reached the half-way point of our appeal! Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far. Every single donation will provide gifts for vulnerable children and teenagers in Buckinghamshire who otherwise would have little or nothing to open on Christmas Day. Can the fantastic people of Buckinghamshire help us reach our £10,000 target?!! Thank you in advance for your support!
