On 27th April I will be wrapping up warm and sleeping outside overnight in Burton on Trent - to raise awareness, understanding (my own) and funds for the organisation I love and am heavily involved with - Burton HOPE. I'll be doing this with friends, other volunteers and any members of the public who want to join us.

As a team we work to help those in the local area who sleep rough, with no fixed address - and also those who might have a place to stay but who are desperately in need of life's basics - food, clothing and warmth. Over the past few months I have got to know many members of the homeless community, heard their stories and learned to appreciate and respect the life challenges they face.

The money we raise will go to support our outreach evenings where we feed anyone who comes to us and provide them with all the basics we possibly can - warm and practical clothing, food parcels, toiletries and practical necessities like sleeping bags. We're also hoping to do much more than this in time.
