Story
The Team : Beccy Davison, Henry Belfiori, Steph Treanor, Eliza Mckendry, Henry Davison
On 6th September 2017 Hurricane Irma, the strongest Atlantic hurricane in the last 50 years, hit the BVI. Irma was the most powerful hurricane to ever hit the region and the entire Virgin Gorda community was devastated.
Just as initial relief efforts were commencing Hurricane Maria hit bringing more destruction and paralysing relief efforts.
Virtually all homes, businesses, health care and education facilities were demolished leaving a humanitarian crisis requiring immense resources and support to recover.
As a group, we have volunteered our time and skills during our Easter break to put something back into this region which we hold close to our hearts. They are fantastic people and have shown incredible resilience and positivity with which to move forward.
We have worked since September in our free time to raise funds for our travel and now we are now raising money to make a financial donation to the region.
Every little helps and is greatly appreciated.
