    Story

We decided to partner with Monega Primary School after visiting the school, meeting the students, teacher and hearing their stories. Monega’s story is something you wouldn’t believe is still happening in the UK today.

Monega is located in East Ham and 60% of student families are living in shared accommodation and 80% of the pupils visited at home prior to starting Monega Primary (EYFS) have inadequate living conditions –  living in one room, no toys or books - sharing a kitchen and bathroom with other occupants.

The school takes 168 mid-phase entries as a result of families being evicted and council re housing out of the borough.

The catchment area has the 3rd highest unemployment rate with the lowest number of women working

Hearing their story, left us dumbfounded and eager to use our resources to make a difference where we can.
