Story
Firstly, let me start by saying Hi to everyone looking in.
I am a very proud grandma to 3 beautiful grandchildren, one of which that has a disability, but whom i love dearly and equally.
I have started this fundraiser to help not just my grandson, but every parent and grand parent who has a child with a disability. During my wonderful time with Archie, taking him to parks and fun zones etc... found that there werent much if any.. Inclusive play equipment. Although Archie never lets his disability get in his way, I still feel a day visit out to a park could be a much better experience for him.
So, I have started contacting councils for permission to be granted space in parks and spare ground to add Inclusive Play equipment to. Parks specifically designed with disabled children in mind. So including this equipment to our present parks (at least some) and hopefully building one purely for disabled people in the middle of Tameside, so its easy access for most people to get to.
I am still doing research to find any that already have them.. but as of yet not located many hence the fundraising.
Once we hit a certain amount then I will be looking to the Lottery funding to match and/or exceed the amount to fulfil the project and take it further afield to areas outside Tameside. I will contact other councils once weve had success in Tameside to also add this equipment to there parks.
In the picture is my little Angel Cake Archie its been his nickname for sometime. When i ask him “who is Archie” he replies “grandmas little Angel Cake”... So, this has stuck with us now. I adore him. If we can help children with disabilities have places to go and enjoy equally with inclusive play equipment in these parks, then the project has been fulfilled.
Children & Adults For Better Lives (CAFBL)).. This is the name i will use for the funds. Any funds left over after the project has been fulfilled will be distributed between charities.
I have added some images to show you some of the equipment i have found to give you some ideas of the sort of equipment i am looking to get into our parks.
Please share this fundraiser as much as possible so that we can get as many people to help as possible. I will keep you posted on the progress at each stage.
All this and more can help support children with disabilities... Giving them the enjoyment on there visit and a day out to the park.
I would like to thank everyone in advance for any donations received and look forward to updating you in due course.
Anyone that would like to help fundraise for this project please do not hesitate to get in touch. The more raised, the more parks we can include.

6 years agoSo I have successfully secured a meeting with Tameside Council to talk about this project which they are very positive about. They would like to discuss it further and agree that it is time to add inclusive play equipment to our parks. If we can help with the funding the more they can do. So a big thank you to everyone that helps with this.
