Story
On Saturday 8 September, while driving to our wedding, a speeding car crashed into our cousins Enzo and Liz’s car with such force, that their car flipped over 4 times and showered them all in broken glass. When the ambulances arrived it was clear that they all had multiple injuries.
Dante was unresponsive at the scene and was taken to Nottingham Queens Medical Centre hospital by Air ambulance. He underwent an 8 hour operation to clear a bleed on his brain and remains in a critical condition in intensive care. He has other serious injuries.
Marco was taken to Birmingham Children's hospital with a ruptured spleen, severed tongue, punctured lung and other injuries, he has spent some time in intensive care. Enzo was taken to Coventry hospital with multiple fractures including a broken back and a ruptured spleen. Liz travelled to Nottingham to be with Dante and she herself has broken her sturnem (rib cage). They all are now in Nottingham Queens Medical Centre although in different wards and Liz is dividing her time between the bedsides of all 3 of her boys.
The absolute last thing they care about right now is money, they just want their family to get better. However they are likely to remain in Nottingham for a while yet and we, as family and friends, have a duty of care to help and support the all 4 in any way we can. One way we can support them is to help them meet their expenses while they are in hospital and in recovery, to take pressure off their shoulders and to let them just focus on getting better.
If I could ask everyone to give what they can and if you are able to help in other ways please get in touch.
Thank you
