I'm going to be running, swimming, cycling and walking (very slowly) for my 2 year old niece India who has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. India needs her Bobby (wheelchair) to get around, Bobby needs a lot of expensive adjustments made so that India can enjoy independence comfortably. sit and move around comfortably. I'd be ever so thankful for any donation..every £1 will help massively with the adjustments.

India was born on 23/2/2016. We found out 19 weeks into pregnancy that she had spina bifida and hydrocephalus. We finally got to meet our little rascal 13 days earlier than expected. India was pulled in the world by emergency c-section.
Before India was 24 hours old, she underwent surgery to close the hole in her spine.She then spent 14 days in ICU & HDU before coming home.India has been admitted to hospital too many times to count due to failure to thrive, kidney infections and the possibility of needing a shunt. Fast forward past all our many physio, OT, speech therapy, social work, play therapy, nuero, orthopaedic, paediatrician & dietician appointments;we found out last year, that India may need a shunt.
India underwent surgery for an ICP (Inter-cranial pressure probe). After 48 hours we were told India would need a shunt and was scheduled for surgery in November 2017. India braved the surgeons drill and scalpal again and appeared to be doing well after recovery but something just wasn't right. After an appointment in January 2018, she was admitted to hospital for a shunt revision. It was quickly discovered that India needed a new shunt. Since then, India has been doing amazingly with her development. India is the friendliest and sweetest child. She has never failed to amaze Alastair and I in how well she has adjusted and overcome all of her many setbacks. We and India are so very grateful for all the support we have received from family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.
