Having been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease 18 Months ago I am now wheelchair bound and have extreme difficulty getting upstairs to sleep and wash. I have been advised that I need a downstairs bedroom and wet room built as my little house is not completely suitable. We have obtained a grant for 75% of the build and need to find 25% ourselves which is difficult as I am no longer able to work and my husband is a pensioner and I am only entitled to PIP. I am hoping that the extension will enable the rest of my life to be as comfortable as possible and that access into and around my house is wheelchair friendly.
