I am hoping to raise £1500 to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for Rebellion BJJ. Specialist training for coaches and key staff members will also be provided. I‘ve already raised £1000 from a previous page but it closed before we had finished!!

In 1996 my world was turned upside down when my fit and healthy Mum suffered a cardiac arrest at home at the age of 51. Sadly she did not survive. Having worked in Critical Care for the last 20 years I have regularly treated patients who have also unexpectedly had a cardiac arrest. Prompt CPR and the use of an AED device has been shown to significantly improve outcomes and survival.

Rebellion BJJ is an inclusive rapidly expanding Martial Arts Centre with a strong family ethos. My husband, John, is Head Coach and my 3 children train on a regular basis. My family and friends are very involved in the positive development of the centre and strive to promote a safe environment to exercise. Rebellion BJJ is situated within a busy industrial park and so this device would also be available for other units to access if needed.

There will a number of fund raising events to help raise the money but would welcome any contributions / fundraising events to assist too :)

I hope the AED will never be used however it is reassuring to know my friends and family will be training in the safest environment there is!
