Hello everyone, I have set up this page for our daughter Olivia, as life has become much more challenging for her of late, and earlier this year we decided that school was no longer the right place for her. She has been bullied, because to her peers she stands out. We love that our girl is different. But sadly, it seems that its not socially acceptable to be different these days. Olivia is on the Autism Spectrum. She has Sensory Pocessing Disorder (SPD) and she also suffers from severe anxiety. Home education is much better for her and much more manageable, however she is very isolated and lonely. She does not like to leave our family home, unless with her Dad, or I. We regularly go out in the evenings, for walks, or car adventures, as its quieter.

Due to SPD, she finds the outside world anxiety provoking and social situations are sometimes completely unmanageable for her.
Through all of her challenges she continues to smile, she is the most amazing girl, with the kindest heart and she loves animals, especially dogs.

We are looking into getting her an Therapy Dog, we feel that it would help her to feel safe and be able to have the confidence to go out.
However, we have had no idea of how to go about this. We have looked into grants and funding to help us financially with achieving this for her, as the cost of a Therapy Dog, or Assistance Dog is very high. Assistant Dogs are in the region of £20,000. After much research and speaking to a lovely local dog trainer, we came to the conclusion that buying our own dog to train as a Therapy Dog was the most cost effective, also the waiting lists for Assistance Dogs are extensive and Liv is in great need of it now.
We would be extremely appreciative of any donation, to help us achieve getting her a Therapy Dog, and if anyone has any helpful advice to offer us regarding the best way to achieve our goal i.e. charity ideas - sponsored walk etc... We would be so grateful. So much love to you all Cassie x
