    Story

On Thursday 27th September 2018 Ben & I will be walking on Fire to raise money for this amazing charity. The money raised from this will go directly to work with young people as any overheads have been covered. Please help us to raise as much money as possible for them. :-)

Kidderminster & District Youth Trust was founded in 1966 by Kidderminster Mayor Charles Talbot, who remains an actively involved Trustee today.

The initial aim of the trust was to raise funds to buy land and construct a purpose built Youth Club in Kidderminster, through which young people could access structured activities that could help them develop into adulthood positively.

In 1970 after much hard work, and lots of local support, Kidderminster Youth House was built. Young people from the local area were involved in the construction and the design of the building.

Kidderminster & District Youth Trust delivered youth clubs, a cafe, hairdressers, sports clubs and other activities from the Youth House until 1979 when Worcestershire County Council leased Kidderminster Youth House to deliver Careers, Youth Work and other important services to young people, this arrangement remained in place until 2012.

During this period Kidderminster & District Youth Trust used the income generated from Kidderminster Youth House to give over £1 million in grants to young people, schools, sports clubs, uniformed groups and other youth organisations in Wyre Forest.

In 2012 Worcestershire County Council commissioned Youth Services and Kidderminster & District Youth Trust were successful in being commissioned to deliver services until March 2019.

KDYT run youth clubs, offer 1-1 support, deliver educational support programmes from Kidderminster Youth House.

We also work in the community through our detached work, KDYT Youth Bus, attending community events, and through working with local schools, charities, colleges and other great organisations.

Kidderminster Youth House is open 7 days a week and has a number of rooms available to hire, including our full sized sports hall. Any income raised from these lettings is reinvested into KDYT and allows us to continue to deliver our work.
