My beautiful friend Sophie has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4, Grade 3 colon cancer.

Sophie was one of my first team members as a BA manager and what a star she was!

We became great friends and I still recall Sophie returning from one of her USA trips telling me about “this guy I met”......and the rest is history!

Sophie made me look beautiful for my wedding, by doing my make up and a few years later, the volcanic ash cloud was not going to stop us making her wedding in the USA ✈️🇺🇸🇬🇧💍🎩

To keep the rest of the story short, Sophie had met her soulmate in Mike and soon Maisie and Freddie were born!👧🏻👦🏼

I‘ve decided to raise this money to go towards Mike’s fund to get alternative treatments for Sophie known as Immunotherapy.

Sophie is fighting this and we will fight with her all the way.

So.......I’ve decided (along with my 6 year old daughter, Ella), to swim the distance between mine and Sophie‘s house.🧜🏻‍♀🏊🏻‍♀️🏡

Basically Sophie lives 122km from me, which when you work it out, is 122,000m. Our local pool is 25m, so Ella (during her swimming lessons each week), and I will be aiming to swim a total of 4,880 lengths.

I will start this on the day before Sophie’s birthday which is on the 6th October (simply because I am on a day off!), and Ella will start on her swimmimg lesson on 26th September. We aim to complete it within 5 months (which sounds a long time, but I need to work round my full time job and job as a mummy of 2 small people). Whatever gets in the way, Ella and I WILL finish this!💪🏻
