    Story

The Senior Choir have been invited to take part in a non-commercial charity world-premiere recording of a very special song called ‘Believe’. The recording taking place in January 2019 at Abbey Road Studios – the iconic recording studio where the Beatles recorded most of their albums. This is an absolutely unbelievable opportunity!
The song is dedicated to Her Majesty The Queen. We will be recording the song with members of the Commonwealth Children’s Choir, the Commonwealth Scholars' Choir and the Commonwealth Youth Orchestra (CYO). A CD of the recording, with a list of all the performers' names in a bound music score, will be presented to The Queen in March 2019.
As a school and choir, we are going to donate £8,000 towards the making of this important recording so that all royalties subsequently earned from its commercial dissemination can benefit the projects provided by CYO's Commonwealth Music Education Fund - which helps children in deprived communities to access the gift of music in its many forms. Should you wish to seek further clarity, I would be more than happy to furnish you with any information you require.
Our choir is going to raise the £8000 in order to make this donation meaningful. Children are encouraged to raise money in their own capacity by selling cakes, receiving money in lieu of birthday presents, doing sponsored walks, etc. We will also arrange a big choir concert next term where tickets will be sold in order to attend. Finally, this Just Giving page is another way we will raise the money, so please donate generously, and send the link to all your friends and family who might be interested in supporting this amazing opportunity. This is a wonderful way for all of us to pull together as a community to make this contribution to uplifting communities in London and getting something amazing out of it ourselves! Please let me know if you have any ideas of ways we can raise the money. Lets all band together and make this happen!
