I have played hockey most of my life, and since having children it is an important way to focus on myself, away from the hectic life of being a working mum.

While I have only been back at Whitchurch Hockey Club in Cardiff for less than a year I have been fortunate enough to be selected to represent Wales at the European Hockey Masters Championships, which will be held in Rotterdam in July 2019.

It is the first time Hockey Wales as fielded an over 35s side (yes, I am that old), so I am very excited to be part of this team. It is a massive privilege to represent the country of your birth, but it's also self-funded. Consequently, I am looking for generous supporters to help fund my first foray into Masters hockey, and to help pay for training kit, playing kit, tournament accommodation and travel.

I'm hopeful that this will be successful tournament for myself and my fellow squad members, and I also hope that it will be the start of a long Masters career! Given that there is a potential that the World Cup will be held in Japan next year I need to keep working hard!!
