Story
We run a small and independent dog rescue called Cottage Farm Dog Rescue and have been taking in unwanted and needy dogs for many years. In the main we rehabilitate dogs and prepare them for adoption homes. We provide space, time and resources to ensure that these dogs find safety and security with us in our home or with foster carers.
The process of preparing a dog for adoption involves time and training and also costs such as; neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, dental checks and often treatment for the older dogs. As well as parasite control, food, bedding and any other veterinary treatment that a dog may need. Then there is fuel for carrying out home checks and transporting dogs where needed.
Adoption fees rarely cover the expenses but enable us to do what we do for the dogs. However, things become more challenging with our older intakes as they tend to need more veterinary assistance, remain here longer and we are unable to charge much as an adoption fee.
Snowy is an example of many dogs like this as she is approx. 6/7 years old, she needs dental work, spaying, vaccinations and a chip.
We are mostly self funded and rarely ask for donations - but we appreciate them and they help us to do more. Without donations and help from the dog loving public we reach a limit in space to accommodate dogs and funds to help them.
We would love to raise a little to help with Snowy's essential rescue costs and any small amount of help really does make a huge difference to our vet bills and not just Snowy's well being but dogs that are also waiting for a space with us.
