I am a researcher in Brazil where funding is getting very scarce due to the ongoing crisis. We work with Neglected Diseases - particularly Chagas disease, which are those that the big pharma ignores. Yet these diseases affect millions of people around the globe in impoverished areas creating a debilitating cycle which has massive burden and implication to third world economies.
