Recently, after being kicked by a horse, I spent a couple of nights on the Assessment Surgical Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

In the opposite bed was a lovely young lady called Chloe. A parent or carer was required to be with Chloe 24/7 due to her complex needs. From 8 pm to 8 am the parent or carer sat and 'slept' on a hard, reclining chair. And watching them try to get some rest on that hard chair was very uncomfortable to watch! With only one position to sleep in, knocking their head on the wooden arms, contorting themselves to try and change positions was painful to see.

I decided to try and make a difference by raising money to buy a wheel-mounted chair that easily transforms into a little bed. Designed specifically for hospitals, to be wheeled in when needed. A comfy chair by day, a comfy bed by night. I decided it should be called the CHLOE CHAIR.

As I own The Music Spot in Lancaster, we are staging a charity concert in June at the University of Cumbria, with all proceeds from tickets and Raffle going to the CHLOE CHAIR fund.
