Craig suffers from Spinocerebella Ataxia type 1 (SCA 1). This is a late onset progressive disorder characterised by its effects on all aspects of his motor control from his ability to walk to his speech.

Sadly he has reached the stage where he needs a wheelchair. Without a suitable wheelchair, he is becoming more isolated as day-to-day tasks are increasingly more difficult or just not possible. With the right chair he will be able to do the daily tasks we all take for granted. More poignantly he will be able to go on simple outings with his 4 year old son, such as taking him to the local park, or for a walk.

A specialist physiotherapist has assessed Craig and recommended a light weight Pergeo Joker R2 manual chair with Triride power front, so he can independently access his local community and be more easily included in activities with his family and friends. The chair will have many adjustments to meet his specific needs.

This equipment is just unaffordable for Craig and his family. Therefore he has taken the difficult decision of asking for help.

In the event of there being extra monies donated, it will be put towards specialised house adjustments and appliances.
