Charles has been selected to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia 2019, representing his local Scout Group and Scouting in Scotland. The selection process involved a camp where the applicants were tested and monitored on team working, problem solving and other scouting abilities and achievements. The USA trip will last for 25 days but the journey starts now, with training camps and fundraising activities. Charles will belong to a unit of 36 Scouts and 4 leaders selected from the South East of Scotland. 55,000 scouts will attend this jamboree from around the world. More countries participate in this event than in any other event in the world, including the Olympics! Charles is committed to bringing Scotland to this event, networking with other cultures and sharing his experiences with others upon his return. He feels honoured to be offered this cultural opportunity of a lifetime. He has 18 months to raise the funds and will be working hard every spare minute, doing whatever he can to earn money and organising fundraising events.
