    Story

Hello my name is charlotte and I’m trying to raise the money to get me started on my dream of becoming a family photographer.

I honestly can’t believe I’m sat here writing this, I can’t believe I’ve set up the page that people have suggested me making for so long. I feel all the things you’d expect someone to feel that’s asking for charity from people.

I feel embarrassed, humiliated and anxious but if I can put those aside everyone is telling me I’ll be ok.

So I guess people will probably want to know what I do day to day.

Well up until last year, I was a University Student and when I started University my oldest daughter was just starting reception class.

We very quickly worked out she had a complex set of special educational needs and we needed to find her another school placement because the school she was at, at that time, wasn’t willing to fund the correct support for her.

She went through four different schools before they finally agreed to place her in a school that could cater to her needs.

At this time I was constantly being called by the school in the middle of lectures or study time and I really started to panic and worry before I left for Uni and it had a huge effect on my studies.

I know University and College is difficult for everyone but for me I had to work a little harder than your average person as my level of focus isn’t at the same level as other people.

I was was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and my ability to really focus on one thing at a time or lots of things at once, is a huge problem for me and the way I process information is slightly different to other people.

So to cut it short, I had to leave Uni so I could put my daughters educational needs before my own and attempt to have her settled in the correct placement.

I really did try my hardest to make it all work at once.

Shortly after that our youngest Daughter was diagnosed with Autism and she is truly an angel sent from above.

The reason I’m including all of this is so I can give a clear explanation of why I don’t work or why I’m not able to raise the money to buy a camera myself. So people don’t think I’m just a bottom feeder who doesn’t want to contribute to society.

    That really isn’t the case.

My youngest daughter, can only attend Nursery for 2 and a half hours in the mornings, 5 days a week. She’s funded to have someone with her at all times to keep her safe.

Without the one on one time, she wouldn’t be safe in her setting and I would never consider moving her because she is so loved there and it would be damaging for me to do so.

This is why I would struggle to work or raise any money to start any kind of business because my children are my life and they are what I do for a living. If that makes sense?

I know there are millions of other mums out there like me.

I don’t have a good support network, infact it’s pretty much none existent.

I thought if I could start my photography, people would have to work around me and my children and I could even take my daughter with me to take photos of people.

Its family and child photography that I really love.

Please feel free to ask me any questions you like but please just be kind. I’ve heard the horror stories from these sites and it’s the reason I’ve been so scared.

I don’t know if this came across correctly or if I’ve explained things clearly or where it will go but this is it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this xxx
